Hampton City Council to discuss legislative priorities and housing design standards

The City Council is scheduled to meet on Wednesday to address several key topics, including the city’s legislative priorities for the upcoming 2026 General Assembly session in Richmond. The meetings will be held in the council chambers on the eighth floor of City Hall at 22 Lincoln St. Residents can watch the sessions live on Cox channel 47, Verizon channel 22, or via online streaming at hampton.gov/livetv.

During the work session at 1 p.m., council members will discuss the city’s legislative goals for the next state assembly and receive an update on Hampton’s strategic initiatives related to Living With Water. The agenda also includes a briefing about updates to the Infill Housing Design Standards and Plan Book. This program aims to encourage builders to create new homes that reflect the historic and traditional character of specific Hampton neighborhoods.

At the legislative session starting at 6:30 p.m., the council plans to vote on appointments to various municipal boards and commissions.
