Coastal flood advisory issued for Poquoson through September 9

A Coastal Flood Advisory has been issued for the area, starting at 9 p.m. on September 8 and lasting until 2 p.m. on September 9, 2025. The advisory warns of possible flooding of up to one foot above ground level in low-lying locations close to shorelines and tidal waterways.

High tide times for Messick Point are listed as 10:18 p.m. tonight, followed by tides at 10:44 a.m. and 11:04 p.m. on Tuesday, and again at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

Residents in affected areas are advised to monitor local conditions and take necessary precautions during the advisory period.
