Coastal flood advisory issued for October 1-2 with parking options for residents

A Coastal Flood Advisory has been announced for the area, effective from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1. The advisory warns of widespread minor coastal flooding expected on both Wednesday and Thursday, with water levels potentially rising up to one foot in low-lying locations.

According to the forecast, high tide at Messick Point is expected at 4:49 p.m. on October 1, and at 5:25 a.m. and 5:52 p.m. on October 2, which are anticipated to be the periods of greatest impact.

To assist residents affected by possible flooding, parking will be available at South Lawson Park and City Hall starting at 8 a.m. on Wednesday through 8 a.m. Friday.
