Republic Services will begin delivering new blue recycling carts to City of Poquoson residents starting Monday, December 1, through Thursday, December 4. The initial deliveries will be made to households on the blue Friday recycling route, followed by those on the red Friday recycling route.

Residents are instructed to transfer any recyclables from their old brown lid recycling carts into the new blue carts before their next scheduled collection. The old brown lid carts should then be moved away from the street and placed somewhere accessible on the resident’s property for future pickup.

The city is currently waiting for confirmation from TFC regarding when or if they will collect the old brown lid carts. Once a schedule has been set for their removal, residents will be notified.

“If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Public Works at 757-868-3598.”

Residents are thanked for their patience during this transition period.
