The City Council is scheduled to hold its regular work and legislative sessions on Wednesday, November 12. The meetings will take place in the council chambers on the eighth floor of City Hall at 22 Lincoln St. The work session begins at 1 p.m., followed by the legislative session at 6:30 p.m. Both sessions will be available for viewing on Cox channel 47, Verizon channel 22, and streamed live online at hampton.gov/livetv.
A key item on the legislative session agenda is the consideration of ordinances concerning permits for accessory dwelling units (ADUs). These are smaller secondary residential structures located on a single-family lot. According to city officials, “The goal of the proposed ordinance is to increase housing options in Hampton.”
In addition to ADU policy discussions, the evening session will address a use permit application for a private museum dedicated to artist Margaret Lefranc.
During the afternoon work session, council members will receive updates about the city’s legislative priorities for the upcoming 2026 General Assembly and ongoing projects from the Department of Community Development.
Information about attending these meetings and accessing full agendas can be found on the city’s website.
