The City Council will begin its 2026 schedule with two meetings on Wednesday. A work session is set for 1 p.m., followed by a legislative session at 6:30 p.m. Both meetings will take place in the council chambers on the eighth floor of City Hall at 22 Lincoln St.

Residents can watch the meetings on Cox channel 47, Verizon channel 22, or through live streaming at hampton.gov/livetv.

During the work session, council members are expected to receive an update on the city’s strategic plan and hear a report from the recently established office of Economic Empowerment and Family Resilience.

The legislative session will feature a public hearing about an ordinance that proposes changes to how smoke and vape shops are defined for use permit purposes. The council will also review the lease agreement between the city and the Peninsula Pilots regarding War Memorial Stadium.

Both sessions are open to public attendance. More information about attending and access to full agendas can be found online.
