The City Council is set to convene on Wednesday for both work and legislative sessions, with a focus on setting priorities as the city gears up to draft its budget for Fiscal Year 2026.
The morning work session will commence at 9 a.m. at the Hampton Roads Convention Center, followed by the legislative session at 6:30 p.m. in chambers located on the eighth floor of City Hall, 22 Lincoln St. Both meetings are accessible to the public and will be streamed live via hampton.gov/livetv. Additionally, they will be broadcast on local TV channels Cox 22 and Verizon 47.
During the morning work session, a budget development workshop and prioritization exercise will take place. Presentations from City Manager Mary Bunting, Deputy City Manager Brian DeProfio, City Attorney Courtney Sydnor, among others, will provide key insights into elements that will shape the city’s forthcoming budget. The new fiscal year starts on July 1, with the annual I Value campaign launching on March 18 to allow residents to express their views on budget priorities.
In the evening legislative session, there will be discussions regarding appointments to local boards.
