The City Council is set to convene on Wednesday for its scheduled work and legislative sessions. The agenda includes a significant restructuring of the oversight for War Memorial Stadium.

The sessions will take place at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the chambers located on the eighth floor of City Hall, 22 Lincoln St. These meetings are open to the public and can be viewed on the city’s TV channels, Cox 47 and Verizon 22, or streamed live at hampton.gov/livetv.

During the legislative session, resolutions will be discussed to dissolve the Peninsula Stadium Authority and establish a new War Memorial Stadium Advisory Board. This board aims to maintain liaison with stadium users and suggest projects and improvements for the baseball stadium situated on Pembroke Avenue.

Additionally, an ordinance re-enacting city code against camping and storage on public property will be considered. If passed, it would prohibit camping or sleeping on public property as well as storing items there. Non-compliance could result in a class one misdemeanor after verbal warnings from Hampton Police Division officers.

The afternoon work session will feature presentations about ongoing projects by the Hampton Roads Alliance, initiatives to expand digital infrastructure in the city, among other topics.

Further details about attendance and full agendas are available online.
