The City Council is set to convene for its regular work and legislative sessions on Wednesday. A special Spotlight ceremony will also take place, honoring the valedictorians and salutatorians from Hampton’s four public high schools.

The meetings are scheduled to be held in chambers on the eighth floor of City Hall, located at 22 Lincoln St. The evening legislative session is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m. Among the items on the agenda are a resolution accepting state funding for Hampton City Schools and an ordinance related to a bid by Dominion Energy Virginia concerning an easement agreement for power supply to a property on Hall Road.

Prior to the legislative session, a ceremony recognizing top students from Hampton, Kecoughtan, Bethel, and Phoebus high schools will occur at 6 p.m.

A work session will precede these events at 1 p.m., featuring briefings on Hampton’s poverty landscape and potential policies for community meetings regarding legislative land use applications.

All three meetings will be available for viewing via broadcast on Cox channel 47 and Verizon channel 22. They can also be streamed live through hampton.gov/livetv.
