City offices and various services will observe closures on Friday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Adjustments have been made to certain city services.

All city offices will be closed on the holiday. Garbage collection scheduled for Friday will occur two days earlier, on Wednesday, July 2. Street sweeping services remain unaffected by the holiday schedule.

The yard waste site and landfill will not operate on July 4. Libraries and community centers are also set to close for the day. The Fort Monroe Pool will be unavailable to visitors as well.

Both the Treasurer’s Office and Commissioner of Revenue’s Office will not open on July 4. DMV Select services are suspended for the day as well.

Courts will extend their closure from July 4 through July 5. However, city parks and Bluebird Gap Farm maintain regular hours during this period.

The Peninsula Health District and its clinics are among those observing a closure on Independence Day. Public golf courses such as The Woodlands and The Hamptons welcome golfers on the holiday.

The Hampton History Museum keeps its galleries open but closes its administrative office on July 4. Lastly, the James T. Wilson Fishing Pier remains accessible to visitors throughout the day.
