Hampton residents and stakeholders have until March 20 to participate in the city's unique budget process by providing their input online. The opportunity allows individuals to contribute their ideas before the city budget for Fiscal Year 2025 is drafted.

City Manager Mary Bunting emphasized the importance of community engagement in the budgeting process, stating, "Take advantage of the chance to share your thoughts and help shape your community."

To facilitate further discussion and address questions, Bunting will host a Facebook Live session on March 12 at 6:30 p.m. on Hampton's official Facebook page. This virtual session follows two in-person meetings and aims to provide an additional platform for interaction.

Residents will have the opportunity to react to the Manager’s Recommended Budget, set for release on April 15, during City Council public hearings scheduled for April 24 and May 1. The final City Council vote on the budget is scheduled for May 8.

For those interested in participating in the City Council hearings, these sessions will be held during regular legislative meetings at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers on the 8th floor of City Hall located at 22 Lincoln St. Detailed meeting information and guidelines for speakers can be found on the city's website.

To learn more and participate in the budget process, residents are encouraged to visit the official website at hampton.gov/budgetsurvey.
